We’ve expanded our Ceph practice. Here’s why distributed, self-healing storage has become foundational to how we design resilient infrastructure.

Storage is where infrastructure projects quietly succeed or fail. Over the past year we’ve deepened our investment in Ceph — and it’s changed how we think about designing for resilience from day one.

The case for distributed storage

Traditional storage arrays concentrate risk: when the array degrades, everything that depends on it feels the pain. Ceph takes the opposite approach, spreading data across many nodes with no single point of failure and rebalancing automatically when hardware changes.

That self-healing behavior is the headline feature. Lose a disk or a whole node, and Ceph redistributes data to restore your redundancy target without an operator lifting a finger.

Unified by design

One of Ceph’s quiet strengths is that it provides block, object, and file storage from a single cluster. Instead of running separate systems for VM volumes, S3-compatible object storage, and shared filesystems, you consolidate onto one platform — which simplifies operations and capacity planning.

Paired with OpenStack or MicroCloud, Ceph becomes the durable foundation that everything else sits on.

What’s new on our side

We’ve added Ceph design and operations to our core services, including reference architectures for converged clusters and runbooks for capacity expansion, failure recovery, and performance tuning. It’s now a standard part of how we approach any serious private-cloud engagement.
